Terms of Service
Effective Date: March 23, 2026 — Last Updated: March 23, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at stenoscout.com (the "Site"), operated by StenoScout ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.
These Terms apply to all visitors, attorneys, legal professionals, court reporters, and any other users of the Site (collectively, "you" or "users"). We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
1. Description of Service
StenoScout is an online directory that helps attorneys and litigation teams locate and evaluate court reporters across the United States. The Site aggregates publicly available business information, allows service providers to claim and manage their listings, and enables visitors to submit quote requests directly to listed providers.
We do not employ, endorse, or guarantee any court reporter listed on the Site. We are not a party to any agreement between you and a service provider, and we do not participate in the actual delivery of deposition videography or any related litigation support services.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Use the Site to transmit any material that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through quote request forms, listing claims, or any other Site feature
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access the Site or extract data from it without our prior written consent
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, its servers, or any systems or networks connected to the Site
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site or the servers or networks used to make the Site available
- Use information obtained from the Site to harass, solicit, or send unsolicited communications to any listed provider
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or otherwise exploit any portion of the Site for commercial purposes without our express written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
3. Quote Requests
The Site allows visitors to submit quote requests to one or more listed court reporters. When you submit a quote request, you provide information including your name, contact details, case description, and scheduling preferences. This information is forwarded directly to the provider(s) you select.
By submitting a quote request, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are providing your information voluntarily and understand it will be shared with the selected provider(s)
- We do not guarantee that any provider will respond to your request, or that any response will meet your needs
- Once your information is transmitted to a provider, that provider's handling of your information is governed by their own privacy practices, not ours
- Submission of a quote request does not create a contract, engagement, or obligation between you and any provider or between you and StenoScout
- You will not submit quote requests for frivolous, fraudulent, or non-genuine purposes
For details on how we handle quote request data, please review our Privacy Policy.
4. Provider Listings
a. Publicly Sourced Listings
StenoScout compiles business listing information from publicly available sources including Google Maps, professional registries, licensing boards, trade associations, review platforms, and publicly accessible business websites. We organize and present this information to help attorneys find qualified court reporters.
If you are a business owner or authorized representative and wish to correct or remove a listing sourced from public data, please contact us at contact@stenoscout.com. We will process corrections within 5 business days and removal requests within 5 business days.
b. Claimed and Managed Listings
Service providers may claim their listings to manage business information, add photographs, update service descriptions, and respond to quote requests. By claiming a listing, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the owner of the business or an authorized representative with authority to manage the listing
- All information you provide is accurate, current, and complete
- You will promptly update your listing if any information becomes inaccurate or outdated
- You hold all necessary licenses, certifications, and permits required to provide the services described in your listing
c. Paid Listing Tiers
StenoScout offers paid listing tiers that provide enhanced visibility and additional features for service providers. Paid listing tiers may include benefits such as priority placement, enhanced profile features, and additional analytics. Paid status does not affect editorial content, review ratings, or the substance of any listing information.
Payment terms, tier features, and pricing are described on our Pricing page. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing. We reserve the right to modify pricing and tier features upon 30 days' written notice to affected providers.
d. Listing Removal and Suspension
We reserve the right to remove, suspend, or modify any listing at our sole discretion, including but not limited to listings that contain inaccurate information, violate these Terms, or are the subject of credible complaints from users or other providers. We will make reasonable efforts to notify the affected provider before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect users or the integrity of the directory.
